The beast race is unique in that it encompasses a wide variety of humanoid creatures, from merfolk to wolf-people to minotaurs to lizardfolk, and anything in between. Though these creatures may be fearsome in appearance, most are typically a calm people. They are born from nature, and as such are much attuned to its laws. Like humans they have the capacity to fight, pray, and wield magic. Although Beasts share some attributes with other races, their love for the world, nature, and less-evolved beasts set this race apart from all others. The Beast is able to channel the power of mother earth in many ways. Beasts have a sense of nature connection that gives them uncommon strength when fighting.
Many Beasts are covered in fur or scales and tire quickly in hot battles. Unlike the other races, Beasts are still much attuned to their animalistic instincts, making using logic and reasoning very difficult at times. If your costume does not fit into any of the other races, it will likely fall into the beast race by default.
Mandatory Beast Costume Requirements (any combo of these as bare minimums, differing on species): Fangs, Animal like Ears, Tails, Snout, Fins, Gills, Scales or fur.
Note – Some hosts may have a unique Beast variant native to their region. Check with your local Lore Master or base your Beast off of local wildlife.
Beast Abilities
Beastial Tough Hide – 2,500XP
What it does: Gives a beast in full costume a +1 Armor point per battle. Character calls "Hide" to use this point during an engagement. After combat, beast can role play healing / grooming to get the ability back before the next engagement. Beast must groom for at least 1 minute after calling hide in order to get the ability back. Any "skin" areas (makeup only) are considered to not have tough hide.
Beastial Sure-Footed – 3,500 XP
What it does: Beast creatures are nimble, sure-footed, or steadfast and are extremely difficult to move. Twice per day, a Beast character may ignore a pushback or knockdown effect (Portal Push, Gust of Wind, Pounce, etc.). Does not apply to Burn Circle or Fear effects.
Endurance of the Bear – 5,000 XP
What it does: Allows the Beast to ignore one mortal wound hit. Usable once per day.
Beastial Humanoid – 8,000XP
What it does: Allows the beast to craft a potion or some other item to change them into a human with no abilities for up to 4 hours. This allows the beast to come out of costume to rest but stay in game and in character (this is more of a safety ability as beasts are usually in a full body costume, it also allows them to eat etc.). The beast should roleplay going through the change when going in or out of human form (which is typically super painful) or temporarily leave the in game areas.
Beastial Stomp – 10,000 XP
What it does: Beast can shout "stomp" while making a jumping gesture or large stomp on the ground. This makes the ground tremble sending opponents within 5 paces falling to the ground. Torso of affected target(s) must touch ground before they can get up again. Can be used once per hour.
