The past shapes the present, setting the stage for future that is to come. On Myrium, a rich and tangled history has created the Current Era. What follows are highlights of ages past. Not much is known of the history of Myrium, as much of the world's history is considered to be merely myths and legends. Only a very few records from the early times still remain. Though filled with strife these accounts gathered from the far corners of the world give a glimpse into our history and possibly our future.

Age of Creation and the Unknown
In the beginning the world was void and without form. There were only two contrasts, the Light and the Darkness. The Light found the Void wanting, and created the land and the seas. The Darkness found the Void wanting as well, and created the beasts of the land, air, and water. Satisfied with their creations, the Light and Darkness agreed on a name for their new world: Myrium.
Date?? Event
The Five Spirits come to Myrium, thus bringing magic to the realms.
Age of Demons and Dragons
-75000: Dragons and Giants appear on Myrium in primitive states
-74000: The first Demons appear on Myrium
-73000: Beasts, Elves, Orcs, and Fairies appear on Myrium in primitive states
-60000: Humans and Dwarves appear on Myrium in primitive states
-40000: Demons overrun the surface world. The Common Races, still in their primitive states, hide -from the godlike combatants and find a way to survive.
-30000: Dragons rise from their primitive state to oppose their demonic overlords
-10000 Dragons sacrifice most of their numbers to send the most powerful demon lores and the majority of their minions back to The Neatherworld, where they are trapped for eternity. The remaining dragons retreat to the far corners of Myrium.
Age of Giants and Monsters
-9000: The remaining true demons and their various offspring are imprisoned in The Abyss
-8000: The Giants rise from the ruins of the Dragon-Demon Wars to estabish a vast and powerful civilization. The enslave the other “lesser races” which has the inadvertent effect of pulling the first of the common races out of their primitive state
-7000: The Draken appear on Myrium
-6000: Dragons make contact with the Giants Kingdoms and begin to teach the Giants how to use Magic. The Eves watch and learn from their place at the Giant's heels. The Giants quickly master the Arcane Arts, creating wonders unequaled even in the Current Age.
-4000: The Oroku invade the Giants' lands. After years of battle the Giants call upon the Magic of the Dragons to destroy them. This act results in a great cataclysm that shakes Myrium to it's core and plunges large chunks of the continent beneath the sea.
-3900: The remaining Giant Kingdoms never recover from the events of the Oroku invasion. Horrible curses and plagues sweet through the land, and the lesser races use the opportunity to rebel. In desperation, the Giants again turn to the same magic they used to stop the Oroku. Before they could unleash such destruction a second time, the dragons attacked. The Giants civilization crumbles, and the lesser races go into hiding in the countryside.
Age of Insight
-3800: the Giants revert to primitive monsters living in the ruins of their shattered civilization as the dragons return to their secluded continent. The other races of Myrium come out of their primitive states. Meanwhile the Oroku create the first of the Orc Kingdoms as the Elves create their own.
-3000: Orc nations arise to compete with the Elven Kingdoms
-2000: The first Undead appear in the Elven lands, hailing from the South. This initial skirmish between the Elves and the Undead begets a pattern of long periods of peace punctuated by short, devastating battles every few hundred years.
-1600: Vampires appear on Myrium, through the actions of a plague created by Elves, and released upon the Human settlement of Ganda la Har.
-1200: Dwarves migrate from the Frostlands to the Deepiron Mountains. Along the way they set up many villages and outposts.
-1000: Elves establish a colony in what is now present-day Aladon. Peaceful coexistence doesn't last, and the Elves come into conflict with the local Orcs. The Elves abandon the colony when another clash with the Undead threatens.
-900: The Elf-Orc War decimates the western reaches of Myrium
-875: Many Human Kingdoms join the Elves in their war against the Orcs. Human intervention quickly turns the tide of war to the Elves favor
-850: After many years of negotiation, a settlement is reached between the Orcs and Elves without significant bloodshed
-750: Many Undead Humans and Elves free themselves from the control of the Undying Kings and create their own kingdom in northern Aladon. Ruled over by the powerful necromancer Kel' Zad, these Undead work to ensure that the damned such as themselves would have a home free from threats by the living. The dub themselves The Fallen. All members of The Fallen are free to choose their own fate, therefore non-evil Fallen do exist, but must work hard to prove their neutral or good intentions. A few good Fallen exist, however they are vastly outnumbered by the numbers of the evil.
-650: The great Demon Lore Toul' Drom reopens a rift into Myrium from the Netherworld. In doing so his powers are all but lost, and the portal he created almost completely closed. Toul' Drom realized that he cannot physically enter Myrium, nor send his Legions vast to this world with the ease he believed. Instead he began to corrupt those on Myrium my imposing his will on thise with weaker minds. Those under the Demon Lords influence create many cults and followings in his name
-500: Through his many worshipers the Demon Lord Toul' Drom restores most of his power. He is unble to fully reopen the portal, and when he tried again much of the world was sent into sudden darkness. Through bonds crafted in years past he is still able to corrupt the peoples of Myrium, however his failures to open portals resulted in this history being lost to all but the Gods.
With almost all libraries destroyed and many lives lost the history of Myrium had been lost to the Gods and a few, vastly remote monasteries. 500 years of darkness followed the failure of the portals and the destruction that it caused. Undead roam the lands, taking settlements as they go, but in the dark new hope was found in a familiar area, the region of the Inland Waters in which Ganda la Har, Aladon, and the Deepiron Mountians reside. Many races came together as one to begin rebuilding Myrium, and thus the Current Age was begun. May the light of hope ring true and stay strong.
